The Antilia is the most expensive house in the world; it is in Mumbai India – in the urban neighborhood. This is the home of India’s famous businessman Mukesh Ambani.

It is 27 floors high and worth a huge sum of around one billion dollars, making it the most expensive house in the world. It is said that each of Antilia’s floor has a different architectural and interior design. The house consists of gyms, floating gardens, pools, a full-sized cinema that seats 50 people, a ballroom that seats 400 people and more guest suites than a small-sized hotel. With so many amenities, it is not surprise that the entire building has over 600 staff members looking after it.

The next is the Villa Leopolda – this is the home of the Russian businessman and billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov; it is the second most expensive house in the world. It is worth $506 million and was the residence of one of the Kings of Belgium in 1902; the most expensive house in Europe, which is on the French Riviera.

Fairfield Pond is the home of billionaire, Ira Leon Rennert and is the third most expensive house in the world. Its name comes of the water body located next to it; it is also one of the most expensive properties in the US. This residential property is about 66,000 square meters wide, also boasts of 39 luxury bedrooms, 3 swimming pools and its own power plant. It is located at Hamptons, US and its estimated worth is about $248 million.

On the fourth place is, the most expensive penthouse in the world. Penthouse D at London’s exclusive One Hyde Park is known to have been sold for £140 million ($220 million). This 16,000 sq ft duplex penthouse with a panaromic view of London is sold by Christian Candy’s CPC group. It is rumoured to have been bought by Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov.

Hearst Castle – Beverly Hills, Los Angeles is fifth on our list of most expensive residences in the world. It  has 27 bedrooms and an outdoor terrace large enough to host a party for about 400 guests. This place also has its own cinema and a night club. This extremely luxury home was also the place where “The Godfather” was made and where J.F. Kennedy had his honeymoon. It is the former home of newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst. The value of this estate is said to be around $165 million.
